A:
It depends on the type of sign, and the height of the installation. We install many of the signs we fabricate, but do use subcontractor installers for large signs and those that are above 2 stories.

Q:What Types Of Lighting Options Are Available For Illuminated Signage?
A:
Illumination options are neon (not recommended due to high cost of maintenance), florescent tubes and ballasts (not recommended due to inefficiency in power consumption), and LED with power supplies (the most used in modern sign lighting). Those options are for interior illumination options. Some clients have non-illuminated signs that have exterior lighting options, such as gooseneck lamps, or ground lighting.

A:
YES, with exceptions. However, the design and size must fit the property manager's/Landlord's signcriteria in your lease (if you lease your space), and the city and zone that your building is located has a specific sign ordinance specifying what type of sign you can have, and how large it can be (maximum height, maximum square footage, and set-back from the property line).

Q:What Are The Energy-Efficient Options Available For Illuminated Signs?
A:
Depending on the size and location of the sign, if it's exterior the most energy efficient way to illuminate the sign is using solar energy. If the sign is interior, or an exterior channel letter or cabinet style sign, the most energy efficient way to illuminate them is using LEDs, which are powered by 12V (120V stepped down to 12V).

Designing to suit the architecture of the building is almost always allowed, based on the limitations listed above.

That means rain, wind, snow, ice and temperature extremes. However, there are 'acts of God' storms that can damage any sign, no matter how much effort is made to make them impervious to harsh weather conditions.
